If you want to know more about the way we think at New World Financial, buy these books. I would characterize the New World Financial mindset as skeptical, analytical and conservative caretakers
of wealth over generations. The books listed here contain much of the background thinking to our products research and development.
The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve (Paperback)

What this book did for me: opened my eyes to the manipulation possible
between big business and government.
Who recommends this: US Congressman Ron Paul
Tips: Just read the summaries at the end of each chapter to get a
flavor of the book, then decide which parts you want to read.
Confessions Of A Wall Street Analyst (Paperback)

What this book did for me: destroyed the myth of perfect information, a cornerstone of modern portfolio theory. Started me searching for a better way to accumulate retirement assets.
Who recommends this book: Michael Powell, Former FCC Chairman
Tips Read the first and last chapters first. The first chapter gives you a flavour of the book, and the last chapter has his conclusions.
Devil Take the Hindmost: A History of Financial Speculation (Hardcover)

What this book did for me: In describing stock market bubbles since the Holland Tulip scandal, it cautions investors about underestimating the power of herd mentality. I sold my equities in December 2007 after much thought.
Who recommends this book: John Kenneth Galbraith, the great Canadian Economist
Tips: The Tulip Bubble is a fun read, and the chapter on Japan in the
80′s is ominously similar to the US before 2008.
The Millionaire Next Door (Paperback)

What this book did for me: This was the one book that made sense to me about what we are as business owners. I shamelessly use Stanley’s formula for Net Worth in my own practice.
Who recommends this book: Forbes, NY Post, Washington Post, Businessweek
Tips The chapter on the habits of millionaires keeps my feet on the ground as they all seem to be living humbler lifestyles than I am.

Bank on Yourself: The Life-Changing Secret to Growing and Protecting Your Financial Future (Hardcover)

What this book did for me: This book is the second of two books that describes the US version of the nwfin system.
Who Recommends this Book: Mark Victor Hansen
Tips: If you want to try the nwfin system out, read this book first. It will save you a lot of consulting fees if you understand the basic concepts before talking to New World Financial about how this works in
Canada.
Becoming Your Own Banker
What this book did for me: This was the conceptual granddaddy of the nwfin system, the first book about the concept known in the US as Infinite Banking.
Who Recommends this Book: Coy Ecklund, ex-CEO Equitable Life
Tips: Don’t mind all the tables of numbers, just get a sense of the concepts and you will thank yourself for making the effort.
